Steve DeBrum Steve DeBrum's passion for public service has been evident throughout his five years as a member of the City Council and in over 20 years of community service in Manteca. Together with his wife Veronica, Steve is dedicated to personal integrity and fiscal responsibility.

Stephen F. DeBrum earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic College, San Luis Obispo in 1970. Drawing on his strong passion for the growth and preservation of agriculture, Steve went to work for Foremost Foods Company in their laboratory and later in the Field Department. In 1979, Steve was hired as the Dairy Manager for Knudsen Agricultural Management Company.

In 1984, Steve began service from his home base in Manteca as the Area Field Representative for a number of dairy farmers, an agricultural marketing cooperative now known as the Dairy Farmers of America. In this capacity, he supports the San Joaquin Valley and the State of Nevada.

Steve was initially elected to the Manteca City Council by special election in March of 2003 with nearly 50% of the vote in a three-person race. He was subsequently reelected to a full four-year term in November of 2004 after running unopposed.

Steve is active in a number of professional clubs and associations. He is currently a member of the California Dairy Industry Association and is a past member of the California Auctioneers Association. He is the current president of the Manteca Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and is also a past President of the Manteca Chamber of Commerce and Board Member for the Manteca Boy's and Girls Club. Steve is a member of the Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis, where he has served as Lt. Governor for the California, Nevada, and Hawaii region. He has served as a past state officer for the Future Farmers of America.

As an active member of Manteca's St. Anthony's Parish, Steve has served in the role of Grand Knight with the St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus.

Steve and his wife Veronica have been married for 40 years. They have two children, Gregory, 38, and Stephanie, 36; and five grandchildren.


One Voice Council of Governments Steve has a a strong voice in the political arena. Recently, Steve met with Congressman Jerry McNerney in his Washington, DC office while on the One Voice Council of Governments trip.Steve DeBrum
